The ascription of a sensual component within the impermeable surface of a skyscraper forms the thematic focus of the work. It began with a research project about the tallest building in the world: the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The pastel purple curtains maintain a barrier for the movement and gaze of the recipient. The colour is almost never found in nature, except in blossoms and ultra-violet light. A plant lamp shines on the abstracted floral ornaments of a pulpit. On the floor lies a fluorspar crystal from a Pakistani mine. It is a mineral which is used as a flowing agent in glass production.
The video shows the facade of the tower being veiled by a black cloth in slow movements. The sound is comprised of fragments of moving metal and cloth, guitar riffs and vocals from pop music, which have been modified profoundly by means of time stretch and reverb effects. Thereby, each sound seems bigger and further away.
